I visited this store for the first time. I was looking for some items that I already selected from the filipp App. I talked to one of the associates, though he was quite young but really had the command on his job, he looked my list, and guided me to the right places where I found those items there.
Bopping along Steeles Avenue westbound to BOOM 97.3 FM - they were playing Depeche Mode "Everything Counts" which was still on when I entered the store to buy that Weiman Glass Cooktop Cleaner which is fantastic and cheaper here than anywhere else! Any way, not a single other customer was in the store...which is kinda funny when you're listening to "Everything Counts (In Large Amounts)". I ended up chatting with the cashier who was this tall dark-haired fellow in his early twenties. A super kid and asset to the store. And yet, no other customer, or customer service associate, was to be found. Anywhere. "The grabbing hands grab all they can All for themselves - after all It's a competitive world Everything counts in large amounts."
What's happened to my good old Home Hardware. Went in on a Sunday to find a quick item that the website showed some in stock. No employee was in the store except two cashiers. Passed three other customers looking for someone to help them. Finally asked a cashier for help and she couldn't find the item either. I gave up and left. Not great customer service at such a busy time of year.
One of the staff member is racist and rude to Indian brown people. I am brown Indian and the cashier said “she hates brown people and what we do to their country.” She abruptly snatched my receipt just because I wanted to refund something and re-buy it for scene points. I had my receipt and when I asked to speak to a manager but she did not allow me to do that and she said she herself is a manager when she had no idea how to return anything or speak to customers.
Most of the staff are wonderful and try to help you. There is this one female staff that is not always nice to her fellow workers. This does not make for a pleasant shopping moment in my mind. However I wish to add that this store has a wonderful reputation and loyal customers regardless of what transpired on one day. The staff is most helpful and usually find what one is looking for. Most importantly it is a Canadian business and deserves all our support . Keep us the great job!!!
Some really wound up people working here. Stopped in today for a couple of items, staff could barely be bothered to lift their head to help. Was just hand waved into another area of the store. Left and went to Home Depot for cheaper product prices and friendlier service. So much for shopping local I guess.
Our main supplier for paint we use the highest quality paint from them and best staff around.trish is amazing, her and michelle are always helpful for us when we are in a jam for a tight scheduled project.
