This is one of the retail stores I trust. I must have come here first 16 or 17 years ago. For sure, bought my kid's first skis ... I think $50 and as long as my leg. In fact, I think the owner went into the basement to find something that fit my budget. I kept going back because used ski gear for kids was right for me. Occasionally would do trade-ins. When we moved from Milton I found myself going back to this store. I thought about 'why?' the other day. I think it's because every employee I spoke to -- no matter how young -- was honest. And almost all were very knowledgeable. I've never been lied to, or got that 'greasy' feeling in a sales pitch. When someone is out of their depth they tell you, and get the right person. That consistency across staff over that length of time -- something at the top is causing it. I think it's so rare in a store. Recently needed to do a complex binding mount on a pair of ridiculous skis -- 4FRNT Hojis... backcountry skis that barely belong in Ontario. Used with weird drill-holes from an AT mount. Super wide. I was worried about letting someone do the mount... but decided I'd do a worse job. The fellow I spoke with took a look and explained how they would approach it, and then said he thinks their lead guy (not there that evening) should be the one to do the mount. I said I was fine waiting as long as it took... don't rush. Yesterday, took my first runs with them at Blue. They're fantastic! Unbelievable feel to have a full rocker. But where I will take them... I can't have them fail. If the screws don't hold, potential SAR call. As with all skis, if the DIN is wrong, potential ACL. Trust should be the biggest thing on a balance sheet. This is a good shop because the people are honest and do good work. Will keep returning.
Not a bad selection but I didn’t get the personal experience I was going for. There were 3 employees just chilling at cash and I didn’t really know anything and was hoping someone was going to walk over and ask me if I needed help with sizing or anything and I kept asking questions which were followed with brief answers and then walking away. Just doesn’t seem like the employees care too much and want customers to buy what they need and leave
Came here for the first time and last time. I came to set up my husbands snow board and asked them to wax and sharp it. Also, I sold them ski poles. (Very low for actually how much they charge you) They charged me $60. I asked the employee to help me get two stickers off the board as well and he said “yes, no problem. we will do it for free hence you are paying the package” but when I came to pick up they did not take them off. They said that’s they tried and it wasn’t possible with the equipment they had there.(But they gave me vibes that they didn’t even try) the manager said if I wanted that to be removed I will have to pay them $60extra because it will take them 2hrs to do that. SO I LEFT OF COURSE! I didn’t believe that would take that much of money and time so I went to Sportcheck to do it. And a kind employee did it on the spot didn’t even take 10 min for him and DID IT FOR FREE! So moral of the story. If you want to help someone your actions will match your kindness. Would not recommend this store as it is pricy and very unprofessional.
Great customer service, excellent selection, and very organized store. Eric helped me, and was very knowledgeable and found me everything I was looking for.
I would like to commend a supervisor at the Milton, Ontario location. I arrived at the store only 30 minutes before closing looking for information on outfitting myself head-to-toe for hockey. I didn’t expect much more than a short browse session, but Christian was eager to provide whatever information I needed and helped me to examine more products than I would have guessed going in. Not for a moment did I feel rushed and all the info he gave me was with great interest in my needs. Not only is Christian obviously very knowledgeable but he is also a prime example of superior customer service. In fact, we even went beyond closing time which I very much appreciated. At the end of it all I ended up purchasing a number of items… all when I expected to merely look around. Well done Christian! I lowered the rating by 1 point for a somewhat limited selection of top line items. But for value, incredible!
